The Moxy Lisboa Oriente, the first Moxy brand hotel in Portugal and the first in the Marriott universe to be managed by the Portuguese group Hoti Hoteis, is located in Parque das Nações, near Gare do Oriente in Lisbon, with the opening scheduled for September 2020. This project is brought to life by the Belgian real estate developer Krest Real Estate Investments, which has been very active in Portugal, investing €15 million in this project.

This three-star hotel features 222 rooms, some with river views, high-speed internet services, parking, a gym, meeting rooms, a library, and terraces. “It is focused on a new concept aimed at the Millennials segment,” the company said in a statement, adding that next to the hotel building, they are developing an office tower, the K-Tower.

The Moxy Lisboa Oriente was built from scratch and has 15 floors, bearing the signature of the renowned international architecture firm Broadway Malyan. “The design approach for the Moxy was based on the guidelines of this lifestyle brand and the location where the building is situated. The industrial character of the area, the steep slope of the land, and the pre-existing urban art were undoubtedly a source of inspiration,” said Margarida Caldeira, general manager of the firm in Portugal, as quoted in the document.

“The main decorative features throughout the lobby are the decorative tiles with contemporary designs that reference traditional Portuguese patterns and large pieces of street art covering the large interior walls, which will be created on-site by local artists. Overlooking the lobby, there is a mezzanine with multi-space rooms, including a gym and a plug-in space, a meeting place where guests can work, meet, or chat at communal tables or in a mix of comfortable sofas and chairs,” she added.

Krest Real Estate Investments highlights the importance given to energy efficiency in the development of the project, opting for innovative solutions such as solar panels, shade panels to prevent overheating, LED lighting systems, and thermal and wind comfort in outdoor areas.

According to the company, the two parking floors are located on floors 2 and 3 of the building, which adds to the project’s sustainability.

With a presence in Portugal since 2014, Krest Real Estate Investments is currently developing, in addition to the K-Tower, a residential project in Oeiras (Lisbon), Jardim Miraflores, a mixed-use project in Porto, and two residential projects in the Algarve.
