“In front of Gare do Oriente, in Parque das Nações, the latest hotel in the Portuguese capital emerges, the Moxy Lisboa Oriente, the first of the brand to arrive in Portugal and which will be managed by the Portuguese group Hoti Hoteis,” explains Krest in a statement.

This is the first hotel in the Marriott universe to be managed by the hotel chain group with 100% Portuguese capital, a “built-from-scratch” building that spans 15 floors and bears the signature of the international architecture firm Broadway Malyan.

The Moxy Lisboa Oriente is a project promoted by Krest Real Investments, which is also developing an office tower next to the hotel building, designated K-Tower.

Together, the hotel and the office tower represent an investment of 40 million euros, the developer told Lusa news agency.

The CEO of the Belgian real estate developer, Claude Kandiyoti, explained that “the idea of building a hotel unit on one of these plots came up the day after Krest bought them.”

This three-star hotel has 222 rooms, some with river views, high-speed internet services, parking, a gym, meeting rooms, a library, and terraces, with a focus on a new concept aimed at the ‘millennial’ segment.

The developer highlighted the importance of energy efficiency in the project’s development, opting for innovative solutions such as solar panels, shade panels to prevent overheating, allowing adequate amounts of daylight on all sides, LED lighting systems, and thermal and wind comfort in outdoor areas.

Krest is a real estate investment company based in Belgium with a presence in the Portuguese market since 2014, with prominent projects in Lisbon, Porto, and the Algarve.

The company has investments in housing, logistics, commerce, hospitality, and offices in Portugal and Belgium, and in the country is currently developing an office building designated K-Tower, in Parque das Nações, a residential project, Jardim Miraflores, in Oeiras, as well as a mixed-use project in Porto and two residential projects in the Algarve.
